REPORT ON THE JUST CONCLUDED DRIVE
We give all glory to God who is the epitome of success on the just concluded BDI’s drive held in university of Ilorin at the following sites; motion ground, hostel arena on the 27th & 28th March 2009
After great expectation and enthusiasm towards the drive at the end of the campaign and workshop. The drive was indeed the talk of the month on campus.
Despite all phobia s of the ignorance, BDI members were able to convince over 500 students for the donation of blood in other to save lives. BDI Ilorin in collaboration with NBTS Ibadan & UITH was in charge of blood donation which was the first of its kind in University of Ilorin.
The drive started at exactly 11am on 27th of March after the setting up of the stands for the drive at the designated sites the turnout was as amazing as students who were aware and those passing by ‘s attention were drawn, many had no choice than to donate. Nevertheless, donors display all sort of characters (students we know ourselves). The sight of blood scared some who came back later to donate.
Wow! It was recorded that 307 people donated, the rest were not capable due to less weight, low PCV (pack cell volume) and low hemoglobin.
The drive ended around 5pm with more people willing to donate but they were appreciated.
An NBTS official had this to say “Unilorin is a fertile land”.
All thanks to NBTS, BDI (worldwide), UITH, Members, Executives, Coordinators, Patrons, and of course our beloveth Donors. It is hard to get enough superlatives to describe you guy, God will richly reward you.
